About Musado Hapkido

Musado Hapkido is an evolutionary modern form of martial art developed for today's more violent "mean" streets and is specifically designed to meet the needs of the modern-day urban warrior. Hapkido is a Korean martial art that combines strikes, joint locks, arm bars, sweeps, pressure point attacks and manipulations, and throws to incapacitate an attacker. As a modern-day urban martial art, Musado Hapkido develops (or re-awakens) the Hapkidoist's inner-warrior spirit while it teaches him or her to use the force necessary, within the limits of the law, to defend themselves, their loved ones, or weaker members of society from those who might wish to do them harm.

Musado Hapkido, is not mired in the "traditional" view of physical assaults like many of the other older Hapkido kwans (styles). Violent crimes have become more violent, some would say much more brutal, and attacks can be swift. The more "traditional" Hapkido styles have not evolved quickly enough to teach students how to defend against this new and more brutal form of assault. Musado Hapkido has a common-sense approach to self defense and is structured to teach the student defense techniques against attacks they are typically going to encounter on the streets.

In a world that is becoming increasingly violent and unpredictable it's normal to worry about your own safety and that of your loved ones. If you are serious about protecting yourself, or your loved ones, you are invited to convert to a fighting art designed to help the practitioner effectively deal with today's growing crime violence. Chong Jae Nim (Head of the Federation) Mike Fournier is the Dojunim (founder of the style) of Musado Hapkido and is a member of the World Head of Family Sokeship Council's International Martial Arts Hall of Fame. As members of the IMHF Hapkidoists, school owners/instructors and their students will benefit from the Master's professional qualifications and his international recognition as an expert in close quarter defensive tactics. His background includes a military career experience as well as an in-depth knowledge of criminal law, police defensive tactics, weapons disarming techniques and the use of force continuum.
